I have.

Can you now explain how you consider his pet to represent a 'legitimate' - and therefore legal - target, please? As I'm sure you know, a cat doing what most cats do does NOT make it vermin in the eyes of the law. For a cat to be considered subject to humane control, certain specific conditions must be satisfied. I'd like to know how you think Budgie's cat qualifies for this, that's all.

Thanks.

And on the eighth day God created carp fishing...and he saw that it was pukka.

Post 380 if no one owns it it's ferral. Being a Rentokill person you should know that.

Don't try to bend the words Wordbender the issue is taking reponsability for your pets ............mind you it's not..it's hunting , shooting and fishing ......in'it.

But then again feral cats should be hunted down and wiped out along with their ex irresponsible owners .............bring back the cat burners :o:lol:

In my opinion it's all about taking responsibility and not just making feeble excuses because the cat was free, it cost you nothing and you can't be arsed getting out of bed :lol:

Since we don't have a cat flap, the cat doesn't get out unless I get out of bed.

By the way Steve would your consience be clear if you cat caused a traffic accident in which people could die or be maimed/crippled ?

If anyone is driving down our quiet residential street quickly enough to cause a serious accident by avoiding a cat, they should be strung up for driving dangerously.

I do know it, and I also know that the cat belongs to Budgie. He feeds it, it sleeps in his house and he considers it his pet. It does not, in any legal sense of the term, qualify as a feral cat that requires humane dispatch. All such cats live and breed entirely wild, and must be proven to be causing specific problems.

Your use of the term 'legitimate target' is entirely wrong in the eyes of the law. But then, I suspect you know this and you're just being controversial for the sake of it, which is a shame, really.

Tigger, you continually demand that cat owners show responsibility. How about you, as someone who claims to have been involved in fieldsports for many years, show some of that same responsibility and stop advocating the shooting of pets with air rifles? Some of the statements you have made in this thread are not only irresponsible, they're illegal.

So, a simple question, what if your cat (as in any cat owner) kills a protected species of bird? Could I bring a prosecution against you (as an owner) ?

I believe this was tried in the USA, but don't know what the outcome was.

In a word, no.

Erm...that's it really.

All the best, Den. ;)

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

No stuff it Im ready for the real hardcore stuff at www.claypoles/easterneuropean.com....................

Im a bit worried that if I play for to long or to much I might get de sensitised and start chucking poor old Bat Cat (my ferral feline companion) up in the air.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

It would seem that if your woken up in the night by a fox in your chicken pen and you let your dog out to chase it off, you could be in hot water, but its OK to let your cat unnecessarily kill and torture what it likes.
