Anglers net waters?

To organise something that people have to travel many miles to attend, at the price it costs today, Well, I'd feel pretty crap if the day turned out to be a big let down.

That's a good point John. I've tried to get permission for a fish-in at one of my club stretches (I failed), I think it's a special place but it's a tough venue and people who've travelled a long way to blank might not think it's so special. I was almost relieved when the committee rejected the idea.

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

That reminds me I must do another Barton Court Fish-in next season.... ;)

Both great ideas mate!

I like the idea of the pairs match, I can see some of the pairings in my mind now!

Tigger and Rabbit (Teme Man, Redfin etc)!

Kappa and Den!

Barry Luxton and Bob Shotter!

Anderoo and Lutra!

And finally I suppose me and Mark!

Stuck together in the same boat for a day fighting on the same side would certainly see an end to a lot of these "supposed" personality clashes I reckon!

Any other suggestions for get togethers (or indeed tongue in cheek for boat pairings! ;) )

  ..hang on Budgie, I draw the line at sharing a boat with a rodent, i'd have to give it the rabbit punch ;)

Myself and Anderoo seem to have cross posted!

As well as offering to arrange a day its also handy if people say want they fancy like Terry did as there is normally someone who can "make it happen".Even if there is no one else who wants to attend.

Well I've always wanted to try fly fishing but lack the gear !!

A catfish weekend would also be good, I've only ever caught half a dozen, and that was a long time ago! If anyone knows a suitable venue we'd be able to book exclusively for AN for a weekend I'd be happy to help out with Admin/Organising

Oh lord, that was terrible, even by our own low standards !

Back to a fishing note, I'm the same as Terry T-Shirt, never been or tried fly fishing and never fished a water with cats in it so either of them I would look at closely.

I think I was the only one that responded to Sportsman's offer of the fishing in France ! I'm still trying to get a couple of people to come over though but if they don't then I may well just come over on my own ;)

A fly-fishing one would be easy enough to organise but might be frustrating for people if they've never done it before - I think the best way would be to book somewhere that hires out tackle and tuition and then if they wanted, people could have an hour or two of tuition and then fish the rest of the day? It starts to get a bit expensive then, that's the only thing. Just a normal day of fly fishing would cost about £25-30, tackle hire and tuition would push that up more. But if people are interesting we could investigate?

(Anyone here able to teach a bit of fly casting? I wouldn't feel comfortable trying, I think I'd pass on too many bad habits!)

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Yes I'm an APGAI instructer and er how about asking the guys over on the "Fly Fishing" Forum? Surely there are enough competent casters to simply give guys who havnt done it before a taste?

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I would like to give fly fishing a go. Only done it once before when I was very young and that was fishing the nymph under that water and pulling it back in like a figure of 8 with my fingers. Cant explain it very well lol. I enjoyed it though.
