i guess it was only really a matter of who would say it first. Once it came out that he may have shouted "Britain First" then some or all of the remain camp would use this as a reason to blast anyone and everyone who may have mentioned and spoke out about immigration recently. Most may have had the decency to wait a while but once campaigning starts again then the Brexit camp will be accused of stirring up hate and inspiring such actions.

But I also suspect that if he had been an immigrant then the Brexit camp would also use this tragedy to their advantage.

I agree with her with regard to the UKIP poster. Truly disgusting.

I suppose it's in the mind, Dave. When I saw the poster for the first time, without looking closely at it, it reminded me of the classic Saatchi and Saatchi posters of the late 70s. Especially the one that said in large letters. 'LABOUR IS'NT WORKING'.

This one.

Sorry John. Objectionable though they may be, the Saatchie posters aren't in the same league. To use a photograph of refugees fleeing a war zone and one that has not a shred of relevance to the EU or the UK is beyond the pale.

I can see why they used a big picture though. The sort of people that picture was designed to appeal to probably don't do a lot of reading.

Farage and UKIP are a disgrace to British politics and that takes some doing.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Whilst reading the link that gozzer posted I stumbled upon this article.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/17/britain-working-class-revolt-eu-referendum

I read this comment and had to repost it because it sums up my own feelings better than I could express them myself.

Why do we British never want to blame ourselves for the mess our country is in? We have voted for governments who privatise public services, cut funds to the NHS, sell off public housing, don't put any money into infrastructure, do nothing to build the regions. We let the rich get away with paying no taxes or hiding their money off shore in tax havens.
We put up with a class system that is the worst in Europe and we sit back and let these privately educated and spoilt fools patronise us in parliament.
In many cases we don't even bother to vote at all, disenfranchising ourselves even further but then whinging about our sovereignty. We don't participate in our communities, volunteer, join our unions or fight for our rights.
All these characteristics are ours, and ours alone. No one forced them on us from across the channel. Instead of blaming immigrants, or the powers that be in Brussels, why don't we ask ourselves - what have I ever done for my rights? What activism have I played a part in? When did I last protest at the privatisation of the post office, the railways, the sell off of public housing, the endless endowments of rich mates to rich mates. Never? Well, there you go.
A country is only strong if people contribute to its government. Thatcher's class hatred and destruction of the North, Blair's conservatism by stealth, Cameron and Osborne's cabal of rich mates.
We have the government we deserve - the home grown one - and we are all being played for fools by concentrating on Brussels while our own politicians sack and burn our own country. Its so much easier to blame 'others' from 'elsewhere' for all our problems.

They serve a fixed five year term Ken, you should know that.

So presidents can bee impeached, prime ministers can be deselected but these bozos can't be removed from office.

Not good is it?

As I said Dave, 'when I first saw it, without looking closely', that's what it reminded me of.

We disagree on just how low those Tory posters were. To assemble as many of the tory faithful as they could, and then doctor the picture, to appeal to the values of the self-righteous middle class, and play on the fears of those naïve enough to believe Thatchers lot. Well that had more relevance to me, and many of the people I knew at the time, than those people in Farages poster.

I'm not saying it was right to use the photo of the refugees, but the intent, and deception, behind both posters are very much on a par with each other.

So presidents can bee impeached, prime ministers can be deselected but these bozos can't be removed from office.

Not good is it?

These bozos are proposed by elected EU parliaments and are then elected by the bozos we elect as MEPs. Tell me Ken , once we have voted for a PM how would we get rid of him before his term is up? As far as I am aware there are many countries where the President is immune from prosecution when he is in office, but can be prosecuted the moment his term is up. Jacques Chirac for example. EU Commissioners don't make laws, they propose them. The European Parliament who are elected by we the people make the laws. If you don't like what comes out of Europe why don't you go along to your MEP's surgery and talk to her rather than whinge about it on an internet forum?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Cameron can be got rid of by a vote of no confidence by his fellow m p's he ain't out of the woods yet, another month and he may well be history. :punk:

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
